ScrollBreak does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.

What the app does

ScrollBreak uses the Android accessibility service for a single purpose: to detect whether the screen currently open in Instagram or YouTube is the Reels or Shorts player, and if so, navigate back automatically. This is the only way Android allows an app to react to what is on screen in another app; there is no other public API that makes this possible.

What the app can access

Only the on-screen structure of Instagram and YouTube, and only while one of those two apps is in the foreground. The accessibility service declares those two package names in its configuration, so the operating system does not deliver events or screen information from any other app on your device.

What the app never does

• It does not read, record, store or transmit your screen content.
• It does not access your messages, passwords, photos, contacts or browsing activity.
• There is no server, no user account, no database and no analytics.
• No advertising and no third-party SDKs are included.
• Nothing leaves your device at any time.

What is stored on your device

Only your own settings: which apps you chose to block, and your theme preference. This is stored locally using Android's standard preferences storage and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Permissions

BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE — required to detect and close short-form video screens. You grant it manually in Android Settings and can revoke it at any time; the app stops working immediately if you do.

The app also declares limited package visibility for com.instagram.android and com.google.android.youtube, used only to display each app's icon on the Blocker screen.

Children

ScrollBreak is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address and inside the app.
